The Top 5 Things You Didn’t Know About your Bookkeeper

Hello, here is a short list of things you didn’t know about your bookkeeper, but probably should.

  1. Bookkeepers Are Part-Time Detectives

We spend a lot of time tracking down missing receipts and figuring out mysterious expenses. Think of us as a current version Nancy Drew.  We are determined, can’t be deterred by obstacles and work incredibly hard to solve problems.

  1. We Speak a Foreign Language

We’ve mastered the language skills of speaking accounting.  We are often reminded about it when we get on an exciting accounting topic and people cock their heads to one side and ask “what on earth are you talking about?”  You can say we also speak in code (701-Supplies, 710-Repairs and Maintenance).

  1. Receipts – Not an Issue

We receive receipts that sometimes line our desk, the wall and even the floor.  Some are ripped in half, stained with coffee and some have been sun bleached.  We power through them like champs.

  1. We are Multitasking Masters

We juggle tasks like reconciling bank statements, handling payroll, financials, classifying transactions, all-the-while flipping from one client account to the next. We want multitasking to be added as an Olympic sport.

  1. We have a Superpower

We are good at predicting how credits and debits will work together for your company.  We can take a set of entries and work magic.  We use this information to show you if your business is on track or heading for trouble.

There you have it.  Bookkeepers are detectives who speak a foreign accounting language, who take on everything given to them, masters of multitasking and work incredibly hard to help your business succeed.

Pretty cool, huh?
